Mission Statement: Central-African Vision (C.A.V.):
The Central-African Vision or C.A.V. was conceived almost 20 years ago when we met one of the most dynamic African leaders based in Malawi, Ps. Sam Vinkhumbo. We shared concerns about a widely forgotten population in that region. Most large initiatives are carried over to the main centres on the continent and the smaller countries are not frequented. We started visiting Malawi and a base of ministry was laid in Blantyre.
As most pastors in these areas are running congregations on just the bare essentials we felt the need to strengthen their hands. Most of these rural churches are in derelict buildings or plainly under a tree. The pastors visit their people on foot on a daily basis. Adding just on bicycle to his arsenal we empower him immensely. Most read from one or two bibles only during a service and by merely giving them, 10 Bibles or more the congregation is uplifted in an unprecedented way. Their congregants lack basic sanitation needs like soap and toothbrushes. Most importantly they lack basic knowledge of hygiene, and keeping themselves protected from the Malaria mosquito.
Just by teaching a young child to wash his/her hands with the river sand and water you immediately extend their life-expectancy with 20 years!
Glory to God!
The need exist for a central HUB from where the various donations can be distributed, and to where the leaders can come for training, upliftment and equipping. It makes more sense to localize the logistical centre or HUB as we call it, and have luxuries such as a fax or internet line and various office administration tools in one central building where they can also be housed, fed, and have sanitation while these pastors/leaders are on conference with us. Some rural spots do not even have electricity, but still those pastors can have an “office” in the hub with all the 21st century tools to help them stay in contact and stay abreast of development and discoveries essential to move on with, and in God.
Your involvement can vary from giving some of your time at the HUB to donating any sort of office equipment. If regular donations are received we have the option of buying direct from Singapore and getting everyday articles at the fraction of the cost in the Western world. For this reason we encourage the public to rather make financial donations or do EFT’s with the reference “C.A.V. HUB DONATION”. This also eliminates the corruption faced in getting all these goods across the borders; as we can buy according to the people’s needs. However, whatever you can think of donating will definitely find a use, a home or a purpose to fulfill. From basic hygiene stuffs and clothing especially for children, adult clothing and toys, school exercise books, pencils, colour in books, coloured pencils; right up to foodstuffs, office requirements (pens/printer paper/copiers/printer/scanner/exam pads or note pads we can give to the pastors, etc.). We can (and have) used everything we were ever given wisely in the field and uplifted many orphans, widows and general people in need.
So what do you get in return?
You plant GOOD SEED in the ground and can confidently and expectantly anticipate receiving a huge harvest as a result.
Luke 6:38:
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again”.
2 Cor. 9:6&7:
6 “[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.
7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving]”.
Stay Blessed,
Ps. Werner & Gina Horné.
